As you are aware the severe weather storm of Christmas 2022 created milk pick up challenges for many local dairy farmers. The ripple effect from this ended up affecting all dairy farmers as many producers did not have an enhanced Milk Coverage Endorsement.
Did you know that coverage is available for loss of milk due to failed pick up. This is one of those cases that coverage is extremely reasonable and is combined as an endorsement with the produce portion of your policy. This same endorsement also carries milk contamination coverage. These 2 coverages help protect the loss of your tank milk due to either weather or contamination.
Please note, not all companies offer this endorsement so please reach out to your current insurance broker to determine whether you currently have this coverage on your policy or to discuss whether it would be beneficial to add to your policy.
